Poipu Crater is a truly unique setting - lush and tropical vegetation nestled in an ancient cinder cone crater, just a few hundred feet from the southernmost tip of the island of Kauai.  This 2 bed 2 bathroom condo boasts vaulted ceilings and exposed beams.  Seclusion with expansive garden views, sharing only a single wall with another unit in a 2 unit building.  No upstairs or downstairs neighbors - this is as close to a free-standing condo as you can get.   

AC was recently added to aid cooling when the tradewinds die down - this property will keep you cool and comfortable year-round!  Most of the rooms have dramatic vaulted ceilings lending to a Polynesian atmosphere.    

Enjoy the lanai for meals, lounging, and a peaceful place to relax while the tropical trees slowly sway in the breeze.

Poipu Crater is a short walk to either Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach in one direction and Shipwreck Beach in the other direction.  World-class dining and shopping is a 2-3 minute drive either towards the shops at Kukui'ula or the Grand Hyatt.

Very clean and spacious unit!! We loved the big lanai and the in-unit laundry. Having AC and ample beach equipment were really nice touches :) Its really close to Poipu Beach and several shopping centers!

A great quiet location, nestled in lovely mature flora, listening to and watching the birds in the morning was always enjoyable, a leisurely 10min walk to the beach, clean and very well stocked - overall very pleased and very much looking forward to coming back. Communication was quick and clear, condominium access was easy and descriptions/instructions were helpful also the online guest book was a nice feature.

Jed and Lisas place was TERRIFIC. A group of four of us came from NYC for our friends wedding and decided to take a chance on trying out an Airbnb that didnt have many reviews, and we are so glad we did!! The proximity to the venue (beach house restaurant), all of our friends hotels and the beach could not have been more ideal. Whether youre walking or renting a car, nothing took longer than 10 minutes to get to. They had a fully stocked kitchen with almost everything youd need for cooking/making drinks, access to the majority of streaming apps on their television, and a very spacious living/dining area with central air. It had an absolutely stunning view of all the foliage in the crate (a real crater!!) and really set the tone each morning. Additionally, they had everything you could need for the beach (towels, floats, boogie boards, goggles, etc) and had an EXCELLENT grill and pool area for smaller group gatherings, which we definitely took advantage of and greatly enjoyed. Not to brag, but it was agreed we had the best Airbnb of the wedding and we are so grateful to have gotten a chance to stay at this gem. (Also, on a personal note, the hair dryer was primo. Thank you for having a diffuser attached! It made all the difference!)

Had a great stay here with 4 people, two couples. The first-floor living room AC was great. The first-floor bedroom did not have AC but we left the bedroom door open at night and it was cool enough. There are fans as well. The washer dryer in the unit is extremely convenient. The patio is spacious and the house is very clean. Enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this place. About 10 min walk to Hideaway beach (steep trail down) but worth it, small but secluded. House is well stocked with beach amenities too. Thanks!

It was a huge bonus to have them to work with. It felt very personalized-not just rent a house and enjoy your stay.

We loved that Poipu Crater was in a secluded area, yet a quick walk to Poipu Beach. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! The property is very well maintained and Jed and Tina are there to make sure if you have any questions or problems they are answered quickly.

PESTS:
Kauai is in a climate that is considered to be both tropical and within a rainforest category, known for its lush flora and fauna.  The environmental factors create a situation where pests (insects) are nearly impossible to eradicate from every property constantly.  Many bugs fly in when a door is open at night or are simply small enough to come in through screens on windows and sliding doors.  For this reason, Koloa Kai engages regular quarterly pest control in every property to keep the pests at bay.  Despite these efforts, it is possible to have pests in your property, and if that happens, Koloa Kai will take all measures possible as quickly as possible to mitigate any issues.  Any monetary compensation, refunds or discounts will be given solely at the discretion of Koloa Kai and will only be available in situations where the company agrees that an infestation has occurred.  Koloa Kai reserves the right to investigate and provide remediation of any pest issue. The mere presence of pests in the property shall not constitute grounds for monetary compensation.

30-DAY MAXIMUM RENTALS:
Koloa Kai LLC provides only short-term rentals with a maximum reservation of 30 days.  Each reservation is fully documented and provides for a fixed date and time for check-in and check-out, rental rates, associated fees, and all other requirements required by local and state law.  If a guest books consecutive reservations where the check-out and check-in dates are concurrent, then a cleaning fee will be assessed, and a Koloa Kai designated cleaning professional/inspector will have unrestricted access to the property for the purposes of cleaning and inspection of the property.  During the time between reservations, described by the check-out time and check-in time specifically, the guests shall vacate the property so that the designated cleaning professional/inspector can conduct a full reservation clean and inspection in accordance with Koloa Kai’s standard practice.  Guest access to the property shall be restricted specifically to the date/times of the reservation documentation and may not be extended upon verbal or text message confirmation.  

Hawaii Laws require that GET (4.712%), Kauai TAT (3.0%) and TAT (10.25%) taxes apply to the cleaning fee.
