Kahala is located in the northwestern section of the 70-acre Poipu Kai Resort, just steps from the Poipu Kai Tennis Club and central greenbelt paths. This low-density complex is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and is known for its peaceful garden setting and well-maintained grounds.
Atmosphere & Style
This is a tranquil, walkable community with a laid-back island feel. Condos are spread across low-rise buildings along tropical garden pathways, creating a quiet residential atmosphere that feels worlds away from the crowds. It’s a favorite for travelers seeking privacy and comfort in a resort-style environment.
Accommodations
Kahala offers one- and two-bedroom condos with spacious layouts and a relaxed island style. Some properties enjoy partial ocean views, but most offer peaceful garden, lawn, pool, or tennis court views. It’s important to note that Kahala does not allow split or central A/C. Select properties have portable air conditioning in the bedrooms only, which can help during warmer months but may not cool the entire space.
Amenities
Guests have access to two on-site swimming pools, a hot tub, and community BBQ grills located within the Kahala complex itself. As part of Poipu Kai Resort, they also enjoy access to the larger resort pool and hot tub, the Poipu Kai Tennis Club with eight courts (including pickleball), and miles of landscaped walking paths connecting the community to nearby beaches.
Some properties also include access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club (PBAC), featuring a resort-style pool with a slide, full gym, tennis and pickleball courts, and a popular poolside restaurant. PBAC access varies by property, so it’s important to confirm whether it’s included before booking.
