Kiahuna Plantation enjoys one of Poipu’s most iconic locations, set on 35 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds that stretch from Poipu Road to the sandy shoreline of Kiahuna Beach. The resort’s expansive lawns and lush gardens create a tropical escape, with orchids, cactus, and swaying palms framing walking paths throughout the property. While a handful of condos sit directly on the beachfront, most are set back across the gardens, offering a peaceful setting just a short stroll to the sand.
Atmosphere & Style
This low-rise, plantation-style resort offers classic Hawaiian charm. The architecture evokes the feel of a historic sugar-era estate, with wide lanais, louvered shutters, and breezy interiors. The resort has a casual, open-air vibe that feels more like a garden estate than a modern hotel, making it a favorite for travelers who appreciate space, greenery, and authentic Kauai character.
Accommodations
Kiahuna Plantation features approximately 300 one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom vacation condos, many of which have unique layouts and décor based on their individual owners. A number of the two-bedroom condos offer split-level or townhome-style designs that provide extra privacy and space. View options include lush Garden and Royal Garden views, Partial Ocean View, Ocean View, and a select few Oceanfront properties near the beach path.
While Kiahuna was originally built to rely on natural trade winds for cooling, portable or split A/C systems have been added to some condos, especially those that have been recently renovated. These upgrades vary by property, so it’s important to confirm air conditioning availability when booking. All condos include full kitchens, private lanais, and easy access to shared amenities.
Amenities
The standout feature of Kiahuna Plantation is its direct access to a swimmable sandy beach, just a short stroll from most condos. Guests also enjoy full membership to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club (PBAC) through the resort’s association, which includes a resort-style pool with a water slide, hot tub, tennis and pickleball courts, fitness center, and the popular Cabana Bar & Grill.
There are 13 on-site BBQ areas throughout the property, making it easy to enjoy outdoor meals beneath the palms. Parking is free and plentiful, with spaces located near each building for convenience.
